My bond with him spans many lifetimes… filled with trust.

So regal!

Sometimes so goooooofy!

Cowboy

Cowboy is a proud and handsome horse. He exhibits all of the freedom and power a horse represents. He shows it in his stride, his zeal when a spring wind and sunny day kick up his zest for life and he dramatically canters and bucks across the pasture he shares with his best buddy Gator the Tennessee Walker. When I adopted Cowboy, he had been rescued from the New Holland auction by a kind horsewoman. And so he settled in to my farm…

He has been a tremendous teacher for me. Riding was exhilarating at first until he developed health issues which changed our riding experiences into dangerous ventures. He taught me to look closely at behavior, physical challenges and emotional needs of an animal and blend my evaluation & intuitive skills together!

One winter I spied a small growth on his eye… thank goodness for my keen eye as it was the tip of a very large tumor that invaded deeply into his eye. He needed to have the eye removed to beat this cancer.

His biggest lesson to me was bravery in the face of challenge, adaptation and flowing with re-navigating life as it was to life as it became new. His original name was Valiant and that he certainly is.
